Hickory Ridge Cup Tourney champs crowned

The Hickory Ridge Golf Association hosted the Hickory Ridge Cup tournament this weekend. The handicap event was played under beautiful blue skies.

Winning the women’s division was Deb Wood who had a gross 78 and net 71. Paula Knaak finished second with a gross of 99 with a net of 73.

Dick Taylor won the men’s division with a gross of 87 and a net of 70. Dave Cotter was in second with a net 81 and a gross 93.

Trophies will be handed out at the year end banquet.

Just two leagues reporting as weather played a role in limiting play last week.

The Tuesday Ladies Night Out league’s low gross was Deb Wood with a 37. Low net was Sue Miller with a 33. Deb Wood and Aleta Martin lead in points with 30. Marcia Zambito and Margie Paige hold down second with 24 points. Two teams are tied for third with 23.5 points. They are Paula Knaak and Melissa Cotter and the team of Patty Pfister and Barb Passeral.

The Men’s Traveling League that plays Thursday night had the team of Hanlon and Schrader leading with 86 points. Burgess and Eaton are in second place with 78 points followed closely by Cotter and Root who have 76 points. Low gross for the night was shared by Wes Bedford and Guy Eaton who each shot a 41. Corey Stalker was low net with a 30. Jason Schrader fired two birdies.
