Hickory Ridge Cup champions crowned

The Hickory Ridge Cup was presented at the conclusion of the 18 hole tournament last week. The handicap event was broken down into mens’ and ladies’ divisions.

The mens’ division was won by Steve McIntyre who posted a net 68 narrowly edging out Jeff Dobson who scored a 70. On the ladies side Marcia Zambito was the winner leading the field with a net 73. Zambito bested Deb Wood who scored a 74.

In the Tuesday Night Ladies Night Out League a familiar name shows up again as the low gross for the night as Deb Wood had a low gross of 42. Aleta Martin had low net with a 41 followed closely by Karen Berlew who had a 43. Birdies were scored by Wood, Vicki Braun and Marcia Zambito.

Wood and Martin continue to lead the standings with 24 points. Patty Phister and Barb Passerell are in second with 22.5 points just sightly ahead of the team of Braun and Cheryl Ferguson who have 22 points.

The Peter Sullivan Sr. League held its first tournament of the league year on Thursday with a picnic that followed awarding prizes to the winners along with raffles. The event was a scratch tournament and the foursome of Gary Wood, Jimmy Zambito, Owen Toale and John True came in with an eye-popping scratch 10 under par 62 The round included a chip-in eagle by Wood on number one along with eight birdies with some great putting.

The Thursday Mens Traveling League shows a low gross again by Barry Flansberg with 39. Low net was Mike Hartmen who shows a 40. Zack Burgess led the birdie parade with three. Mike Hanlon, Scott Weatherwax and Dean Dibley each had one.

In the standings the team of Denniston and Draper still lead with 84 points. Molisano and Soria are in second with 80 points with the Millers team and Hanoln and Schrader are tied for third with 74 points each.
