Heat advisory issued for Orleans County on Wednesday

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory in Orleans County on Wednesday between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. when heat index values as high as 100 are expected.

The advisory also includes Niagara, Monroe, Genesee, Livingston, Wayne, northern Erie, northern Cayuga, Oswego and Ontario counties.

The temperatures near or above 90 and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur, the Weather Service said.

The highs for the rest of the week include 85 on Thursday, 76 on Friday and 82 on Saturday.
