Hawks will face new foe in 8 man opener
A new foe will provide the opposition when Holley/Lyndonville opens the 8 man football season at home at 1 p.m. next Saturday against Allegany-Limestone in a non league contest.
It will be the debut for the newly merged Holley/Lyndonville squad as for the past couple of years Lyndonville players had been members of the Roy-Hart/Barker/Lyndonville tri school squad.
The Hawks 18 member squad is led by the veteran quintet of junior quarterback/linebacker Destin Kuyal, junior wide receiver/defensive back Mason Moyer, junior fullback/defensive lineman Hunter Jewell-Smith, junior two-way lineman Kaiden Feis and senior two-way lineman Anthony Fallato. Another veteran, junior wide receiver defensive back Vinny Golisano, is recovering from an off season injury and will miss the first part of the season.
Sophomore Tyler Moore looks to help out at running back and linebacker.
Lyndonville will be represented by senior center/defensive lineman Patrick Hargrave and sophomore two-way lineman Mathias Hoefer.
“We’ve got the skill kids. It comes down to our offensive line play if they can get the job done,” said Coach Wil Prince. “It’s about the line.”
