Holley will tuneup for the up coming Genesee Region League baseball season with a series of scrimmages and games at the Cal Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, S.C. over the Easter break week.

Holley, which returns a solid nucleus led by G-R All-Stars pitcher/shortstop Joe DeFelice and pitcher/catcher Josh Porter, both seniors, will have two scrimmages as well as games against Geneseo and North Shore Country Day at the Ripken Experience next week.

“The kids definitely have their goals set high. We made it to the final four in the sectionals last year and we’re looking forward to a really good year,” said Hawks Coach Jason Cole who looks for the Carolina trip to get the Hawks off and rolling especially the game against Geneseo which was the No. 1 seed in Class C last spring. “Geneseo had a big year last year so we’re looking at that game as really a sectional matchup type of contest, he added.”

In addition to Porter and DeFelice, Holley also returns plenty of experience in seniors Jon Bower (shortstop/pitcher) and Lucas Silvis (first base), junior Nick Passarell (outfield) and sophomore Dylan Hillabush (pitcher/first base).

The Hawks lineup also includes juniors Zach Vaccarelli (outfield), Justin Parker (infield), Zach Trask, Ronnie DeWaal and freshman Sam Lammes.

Holley is scheduled to begin G-R competition at home against Byron-Bergen on April 7.
