Hawks, Rams battle to tie in double OT

Neither team could dent the net in 100 minutes of soccer this evening as Roy-Hart and host Holley battled to a 0-0 double overtime tie in the Hawks season opening round robin tournament.

Patrick Bower made 8 saves in goal for Holley and Kodey Hayes 5 stops in the net for Roy-Hart.

“Both teams fought really hard and had some quality chances,” said Roy-Hart Coach Greg Martillotta. “I’m really proud of our kids. It was their second game in as many nights and they really battled and gave it everything they had.”

Roy-Hart, which is now 1-0-1 defeated Batavia 2-1 on Tuesday.

It was the season opener for Holley which will now face Batavia at 6:30 p.m. Friday to round out the event.

Newfane 5, Wilson 2
Newfane opened defense of its Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer title with a 5-2 victory over rival Wilson this afternoon.

Trevor Moreland had 2 goals and 3 assists and Mateo May 2 goals and 1 assist to lead the way for Newfane which also got a goal by Matt DiTullio.
