Hawks post diamond win over Mustangs

Scoring three quick runs in the first inning, Holley/Kendall went on to defeat Medina 6-1 in a non league baseball game this evening under the lights at Vets Park.

A double by Colton Breslawski and a single by Collin Papaj highlighted the decisive first inning uprising.

The Hawks also got an RBI double from Patrick Bower in the second inning and an RBI single by winning pitcher Dylan Hillabush in the sixth.

Papaj had a total of 3 hits on the night and Breslawski 2.

Hillabush went the distance on the mound for the Hawks scattering 5 hits and striking out 5.

Zach Vaccarelli looks to catch a foul ball at first base for an out for the Hawks.

Medina’s lone run came in the second inning set up by a double by Jared Zinkievich.

Improving to 11-4, Holley/Kendall will wrap up the Genesee Region League season on Friday with a home game against Attica.

Medina, which is 5-11, is scheduled to visit Batavia at 2 p.m. Saturday in another non league contest.

Alumni Game Sunday

The second annual Medina vs. Akron alumni game is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at Akron.

There will be a batting practice session for Medina alumni players from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday at Vets Park. Anyone interested in playing in the game but cannot attend the batting practice can contact Eric Hellwig at ehellwig@medinacsd.org.
