Hawks nip Mustangs on last minute goal

A dramatic goal with less than a minute to go earned Holley a 2-1 victory over Medina/Lyndonville this evening in a non league boys soccer game at Vets Park.

Breaking a 1-1 deadlock, Holley claimed the exciting win when Tyler Chmylak scored with just 56 seconds remaining.

Hawks defender Tyler Hill then preserved the victory by making a clutch clear from in front of the Holley net in the final seconds.

“Medina has a real good team so we were fortunate to pull this one out,” Holley coach Dan Orbaker said. “This one really helps us as we’ve playng a lot of freshmen and sophomores and we’ve been bitten by a lot of bad luck. Our youngsters though are getting better and this is a good confidence booster. It really helps us get back on track.”

Medina led 1-0 on a goal by Greg Husung but Holley netted the equalizer early in the second half on a tally by Levi Fahmer off an an assist by Andrew Cary.

Roy-Hart 1, CSAT 0
MIDDLEPORT – Roy-Hart made a lone second half goal by Lyle Wagner, off an assist from David Brooks, stand up for a narrow 1-0 Niagara-Orleans League victory over CSAT this evening.

Sam White earned the shut out in goal for Roy-Hart which improves to 4-5-1 as CSAT drops to 2-9.
