Hawks edge past Tigers
A closing 11-3 scoring burst earned Holley a narrow 46-41 victory over host Lyndonville this evening in a Genesee Region League boys basketball game.
Holley pulled even early in the final period on a three by Josh Porter and then regained the lead for good behind six straight points by Corey Winter on two baskets and a pair of free throws.
Winter finished with a total of 14 points, Joey DeFelice 12, Porter 11, John Bower 5 and Zach Varrarelli 2 for the Hawks.
AJ Buckland led Lyndonville with 13 points, all from the free throw line. Justin Edwards added 9 points, Ty Hrovat 8 and Evan Milleville 5 for the Tigers.
Lyndonville grabbed a 13-11 lead after one period but Holley rallied into a 27-23 advantage at the half as DeFelice netted 7 in the second period.
The contest was tied 35-35 at the three-quarter mark.
Notre Dame 57, Kendall 47
Breaking away from a 24-24 half-time deadlock, Notre Dame used a 33-23 second half scoring edge to down Kendall 57-47 in another G-R contest.
Mookei Nauden had 11 points, 9 assists, 7 rebounds and 4 steals for Kendall as Garret Love added 10 points and 9 rebounds and Isaiah Brown 13 rebounds and 7 points.
