Surviving a seventh inning scare, Holley nipped host rival Kendall 3-2 this afternoon in a Genesee Region League baseball game.

Holley built up a 3-0 advantage by scoring twice in the fifth inning on fielders choice plays, which followed singles by Joe DeFelice and Brandon Weaver, and once in the sixth as Dylan Hillabush singled and came home on a double by Josh Porter.

However, Kendall, which had been held hitless by Weaver through the first six innings, put together a rally in the bottom of the seventh.

A single by Garett Love and a double by Cody Spellan set up the last ditch Eagles rally and Justin Barrett followed up with a two-run single to cut the deficit to one.

Holley though turned back the challenge as Porter came on to get the final three outs, two via strikeouts.

Alex Sutphen also had a big day on the mound for Kendall allowing only four hits and striking out 15.

Holley is now 4-4 and Kendall 4-3.
