Holley and Kendall will both tune up for the Genesee Region League boys basketball season Monday with road games against non league opponents.

Holley will travel to Mt. Morris (7 p.m.) and Kendall will visit Barker (6 p.m.). The Hawks will then host Oakfield-Alabama and the Eagles will visit Pembroke in the G-R openers on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Holley is led by the veteran quartet of seniors Broek Ostrom, Erik Lang, Mason Neale and James Tette. Ostrom averaged 18 points per game and earned G-R All-Star honors last season.

The Hawks lineup also includes juniors Hunter Kennedy, Seth Janus, Zach Milner and Jaylyn Tette along with freshmen Vinny Golisano and Destin Kuyal.

“There is not much experience after our returning group, said Coach Wil Prince. “They are working hard. A big key for us will be to protect the paint.”

Kendall’s lineup is led by the veteran quintet of seniors Braxton Zarpentine, Dutch Steffen and Jeffrey Pratt along with juniors Zach Barrett and Devin Edick.

The Eagles roster also includes senior Seth Bidwell and sophomores Louie Conte and Jacek Kwiatkowski.

“We have some nice pieces back,” said Coach Matt Zimmer. “We have good experience with our returning starters and we’re looking for them to step up.”
