Hawk grapplers top rival Eagles

HOLLEY – Defending champion Holley downed rival Kendall 65-15 this evening in a Genesee Region League wrestling match.

Martin Beadle (138), Aaron Ierlan (195) and Lucas Silvis (220) all registered pins for Holley.

The Hawks also got decision wins from Brandon Morrell (106), Dan Flanagan (126) and David Weaver (160).

Josh Allart (170) and Mark Washington (182) both notched pins and Mason ReQua (145) had a decision win for Kendall.

Holley is now 2-0 in the league and 3-0 overall while Kendall slips to 0-3.

Akron 60, Medina 18
AKRON – Defending Niagara-Orleans League champion Akron rolled to a 60-18 victory over Medina highlighted by pins by Andre Holtz, Matt Fieblekorn, Jacob Clark and David Case.

Kalvin Packer had a first period pin and Brennen Callara a technical fall victory for Medina which also got decision wins by Joe Velez and Ben Howell.

Akron is now 2-0 and Medina 1-1.

Newfane 69, Albion 9
NEWFANE – Andrew Gelyon, Nate Martin, Chris Johnstone, Jake Warner and Zach Brown all notched pins for Newfane (2-0) in a 69-9 victory over Albion (0-2).

Ed Wolfe had a pin and Aaron Burnside a decision win for Albion.

Barker/Roy-Hart 66, Wilson 16
WILSON – Adam Mikall, Joe DiMayo, William Jensen, Ryan Ulrich, Dylan Mangan and DJ Gardner all registered pins for Roy-Hart (1-1) to key a 66-16 victory over Wilson (0-2).

Dylan Thompson and Chase Wheeler both registered pins for Wilson.
