H.S. spring teams earn Scholar-Athlete awards

Nearly 30 local high school varsity spring sports teams have earned New York State Public High School Athletic Association Scholar-Athlete Team Awards by compiling a composite average of at least 90.

Medina leads the way with six honored teams including baseball, softball, tennis, lacrosse, boys track and girls track.

Holley has five honorees including softball, golf, tennis, boys track and girls track as does Barker with baseball, softball, tennis, boys track and girls track.

Albion has four honorees including baseball, sotball, tennis and girls track.

Lyndonville has a trio of honorees in baseball, softball and girls track as does Roy-hArt in softball, tennis and girls track.

Akron and Newfane both have an area high of seven honored teams. Akron has baseball, softball, tennis, boys track, grirls track, lacrosse and flag football. Newfane has baseball, softball, tennis, girls lacrosse, boys track, girls track and Unified basketball.
