Grillo receives Lifetime Achievement Award from National Wrestling Hall of Fame

Contributed Photo – Former long time Holley High wrestling Coach John Grillo received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Upstate New York Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in ceremonies on Sunday. Grillo is shown here at the ceremonies with two of his sons, Adam, left, and Ashley John. Grillo, who had over 780 career wins, coached for 44 years mostly at Holley where he guided the Hawks to 22 Genesee Region League and 12 Section V titles. He coached numerous Holley Section V champions and  state champions  his son Andrew and multi year winner Quinton Murphy. He was honored as G-R League Coach of the Year 15 times and Section V Coach of the Year 6 times. He was previously inducted into the Section V Hall of Fame and received the New York State Coaches Achievement Award. His name will now be on the list of Lifetime Achievement Award winners at the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
