Green has strong start to USF fall golf season

Medina High graduate Melanie Green has opened the University of South Florida’s golf season with a top 20 finish at the Green Wave Fall Classic in New Orleans.
Green, who is a junior at USF, shot a pair of even par rounds of 72 on Monday.
She then fired a three under par round of 69 today to finish with a 213 total and a share of 19th place in the individual standings.
Green registered 11 of USF’s 39 birdies in the tourney.
She shared that 19th spot with her sophomore teammate Leonor Medeiros who is from Portugal.
The Green – Medeiros duo helped lead USF to a sixth place finish in the 14 team event.
