Green completes 2nd round at Pebble Beach

Putting together a strong closing 9 holes, Medina’s Melanie Green fired a 5 over par round of 76 today in the second and final day of stroke competition at the USGA girls Jr. Championships on the Poppy Hills course at Pebble Beach, California.
Hampered by bogeys, Green had a 4 over par 40 on her first 9 holes of the day but rebounded with a 1 over par 36 on the second nine to finish the day with a 76 and a two day total of 153. She had a birdie on her final hole.
She had a total of 7 birdies on the day to help off set a half a dozen bogeys or double bogeys.
The 64 low scores after the completion of today’s round advance to the match play portion of the tournament which begins Wednesday.
The start of today’s round was delayed by some 3 hours due to poor visibility.
