LEWISTON – It was a case of too little, too late for Albion as the No. 10 seed Purple Eagles dropped a 4-2 decision to No. 2 Grand Island this evening in a Section VI Class A2 soccer playoff game at Lew-Port.

Grand Island scored two quick goals midway through the first half and two more in a quick burst early in the second half to build up a commanding 4-0 lead. Julia Kelly netted two goals to lead the Vikings offensive surge.

Albion did come battling back with goals by Mariah Elsenheimer and Kayla Doyle in the final five minutes but could not overcome the big deficit.
