Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced today that low-risk youth sports will be allowed to resume on July 6, as long as a region is in Phase 3 of the reopening.

Orleans County is in the Finger Lakes Region, which started in Phase 3 on Friday.

The sports allowed include baseball, softball, gymnastics, field hockey, cross country and crew.

There will be a limit of two spectators per child on the team or activity.

Most of the local sports leagues cancelled their spring and summer seasons. Some of leagues left open the chance for playing later in the summer or fall.
