Photos by Cheryl Wertman – Jim Kaat, who is one of seven new members who will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in ceremonies at Cooperstown Sunday afternoon, here signs autographs for some of the fans who attended this morning’s Hall of Famer  tournament at the Leatherstocking golf course. The other new inductees include Gil Hodges, David Ortiz, Buck O’Neil, Tony Oliva, Minnie Minoso and Bud Fowler.

Hall of Famer John Smoltz, at left, keeps an eye on his shot. At the right, Hall of Famers Rollie Fingers, left, and Goose Gossage, watch were Gossage’s tee shot landed.

Each of the new inductees has some of the mementos from their career on display in the Hall of Fame. Kaat’s display is shown here.

The focal spot for the Induction Weekend, the Hall of Fame was a busy spot as a steady crowd of fans took time to tour the museum.

Main Street in Cooperstown was pretty quiet early this morning as barricades have been set up on both sides of the street in preparation for this evening’s parade of Hall of Famers which ends at the Hall of Fame. Traffic is not allowed on the street during Induction Weekend.
