Geneseo booters shutout Holley

In a non league clash between two teams seeking top seeds for the upcoming Section V playoffs, Geneseo blanked host Holley 4-0 this evening.

Geneseo, which is currently seeded No. 1 in Class C2, improves to 13-1 while Holley, which is seeded No. 1 in Class B2, slips to 10-4.

Geneseo took control with a quick two goal scoring burst late in the first half.

Kyle Rollins broke a scoreless deadlock when he scored with 17:17 to go. Sean Kelly followed up with a tally just six minutes later at 11:12 to give the Blue Devils a 2-0 lead at the half.

Geneseo, which controlled play throughout, broke the contest wide open in the first 15 minutes of the second half as Rollins scored at 31:46 and again at 26:54 to complete his hat-trick.

Holley, which is 6-2 in Genesee Region League action, next faces front-running Wheatland-Chili (6-1-1) on Wednesday in a key clash for the league lead.
