GCC to compete in regional volleyball tourney

A quartet of local players is on the roster for the Genesee Community College volleyball team which will be competing in the Region III Tournament at Niagara County Community College on Saturday.

Albion graduate Rylee Pearles is the Cougar starting middle blocker and Roy-Hart grad Allie Dent is the libero. Holley grad Grace McKeon and Roy-Hart grad Sam Capen are key reserves. All are freshmen except Pearles who is a sophomore.

The Cougars roster also includes defensive specialist Mya Thomas, a sophomore from Akron.

In the tourney GCC will face Fulton-Montgomery CC, Finger Lakes CC and Herkimer CC.

The Cougars finished sixth in Region III during the regular season after a 12th place finish a year ago.
