The national average gas price is up again, after demand reached an all-time high, AAA Western and Central New York said this morning.

The average price in the state is $3.20 per gallon, compared to a year ago when it was $2.20. A month ago the average price was $3.13.

Locally, the average prices include:

• Orleans: $3.186
• Genesee: $3.168
• Niagara: $3.059
• Monroe: $3.145

AAA said the national average price for gas is on the rise after demand reached an all-time high.

“Summer travel is in full swing as many people look to vacation after the pandemic put plans on hold for some time,” AAA said in a news release. “With oil prices above $70 per barrel, pump prices will likely remain high (above $3 per gallon) throughout the busy summer driving season.”
