Gas prices down 8 cents in past week in NYS
AAA is reporting gas prices went down an average of 8 cents a gallon in the state and nationally in the past week. The average price was $4.37 in New York and $4.25 in the United States.
A year ago the average price per gallon was $2.92 in the state and $2.88 in the country, according to AAA.
The average price per gallon today reported by AAA includes:
- Orleans, $4.379
- Genesee, $4.350
- Livingston, $4.399
- Wyoming, $4.389
- Niagara, $4.315
- Erie, $4.390
- Monroe, $4.390
- National: $4.252
- New York State: $4.368
“Drivers are getting a bit of relief at the pump as gas prices are down across the region,” AAA said. “Oil prices are near $110 per barrel this morning rather than over $130 two weeks ago. In August, oil prices were $30 per barrel. Oil prices dropped last week when China announced Covid-19 lockdowns last week.”
Diesel prices, however, barely budged, from $5.245 a week ago to $5.244 today in the state.
