Medina High senior Martha Gardner place second in the Steeplechase at the East Syracuse-Minoa Specialty Qualifying Invitational Monday.
Gardner, who holds the Medina school record in the Steeplechase of 7:30 posted a time of 7:51.40 in the season opening event.
Her next Steeplechase competition will be at the Niagara-Orleans All-League meet in May.
Gardner is the defending N-O champion in the 800, 1500 and 3000.
Medina opens N-O competition at Barker on April 20.
