Gananda stickman nip Medina in trophy game

Gananda scored a 1 goal win in the contest this afternoon at Genesee Community College.

In the inaugural Battle for the Little Blue Jug trophy, Gananda edged past Medina 17-16 this afternoon in a regular season ending non league lacrosse game at Genesee Community College.

Gananda, which is coached by Medina High graduate Joe Sidari, held narrow leads of 4-2 after one quarter, 10-8 at the half and 13-11 at the three-quarter mark.

Jake Cotter and Brendan Luthart both had 5 goals on the day for Medina as Mike Carson netted 3, Coby Albone 2 and Mason Lewis 1.

Cotter and Luthart both netted a pair of goals in the second period to help keep the Mustangs within 2 at the half.

Medina finishes the regular season at 10-6.
