Gaesser repeats as G-R links champ

Kendall High junior Evan Gaesser successfully defended his Genesee Region League golf tournament title in competition Monday at Stafford Country Club.

Gaesser carded a round of 73 to take top honors.

Kendall sophomore Jacob Adams also earned All-League honors tying for fourth place with a round of 82.

Gaesser has competed in the Section V Tournament the past three years, the Supersectionals in both 2013 and 2014 and was a member of the Section V team that competed in the state tournament at Cornell University in both 2013 and 2014.

Gaesser and Adams now advance to the Section V Individual Tournament which will be held Saturday at Ridgemount Country Club.

Also advancing to the Section V Individual Tournament from the G-R League are Drew Morabito from Notre Dame, Matt Geneway from the Attica/Alexander combined team and Joe Lane and Dakota Dillon from the Elba/Oakfield combined team. Morabito shot 76, Getaway 80 and Lane and Dillon 82.

Representing the G-R at the May 22 Section V Team Tournament at Livingston Country Club will be Attica/Alexander in Class B and Elba/Oakfield in Class C.
