A big last ditch rally earned the Genesee Region League a narrow 10-9 victory over the Niagara-Orleans League in the annual Exceptional Seniors baseball game this evening at Genesee Community College.

Trailing 9-5, the G-R rallied for 5 runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to claim the victory as RBI singles by Colin Noeth (Byron-Bergen) and Derrick Busch (Alexander) capped off the uprising.

Two walks and a single by Eric Neace (Lyndonville) set up the opportunity as a fielders choice play, am error and a wild pitch plated the first three runs. A single by Dane Heberlein (Alexander) helped to keep the rally going.

Neace had a total of 3 hits and Noeth 2. Neace’s hits included an RBI single during a two-run first inning that was ignited by a double by Jacob Hoffee (Lyndonville).

The N-O had built up a 9-4 lead by scoring 3 times in the sixth on an error, an RBI single by Cam Fox (Barker) and a hit batter and 3 times in the seventh on RBI doubles by Justin Daul (Wilson) and Brendan Hess (Roy-Hart), a triple by Jake Stern (Roy-Hart) and a run producing error.

Hess and Stern both had a total of 3 hits and Austin Walker (Roy-Hart) 2.

Lyndonville was also represented in the game by Mike Wells and Cody Bentley, Holley by Dylan Hillabush and Collin Papaj, Roy-Hart by Cam Meadows, Matt Maines and Tim Maines and Barker by Kyle MacDonald.
