G-R rallies in 8th for seniors game win

Photos by Cheryl Wertman – Lyndonville’s Aubrey Lewis banged out the game winning base hit earning the Genesee Region League a 7-6 victory over the Livingston County League in the Exceptional Seniors softball game this afternoon at Genesee Community College.

Rallying for three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, the Genesee Region League edged past the Livingston County League 7-6 in the Exceptional Seniors softball game this afternoon at Genesee Community College.

Lyndonville’s Aubrey Lewis capped off the decisive rally with a game winning single.  A single by Elba’s Carli Bogue ignited the uprising. Alexander’s Hannah Paolucci followed up with an RBI triple and a fielders choice play off the bat of Kendall’s Emily Mattle plated the tying run.

Paolucci finished with a total of 3 hits and Lewis 2.

The Livingston County Seniors had grabbed a 6-4 lead by scoring four times in the sixth inning on 2 walks and 3 hits.

Lyndonville was also represented in the game by Makenzie Muck and Kendall by Kacey Menge and Madison Rath. Holley was represented by Anna Brasted.
