Futures diamond squad wins Aquinas Tourney

The Futures U15 baseball team captured championship honors at the Aquinas Maroon and White Tournament this past weekend.
On Friday the Futures, which is comprised mainly of players from Kendall and one from Lyndonville, defeated Greece Gladiators – Walter 13-0.
Nic Cole pitched the team to victory going five innings while allowing one hit and striking out seven. Ty Sherman pitched the last inning giving up one hit.
The offense was lead by Nicholas Sanna with two hits. Also collecting hits were Sherman, Vinnie D’Agostino, Colby Hughes, Jonny Conte, Mike Colucci, Gavin Deblase, and Colton Smith.
Saturday the Futures defeated the Greece Gladiators – Popielarz 13-4.
Gavin Braun picked out the victory allowing two hits and striking out 10. D’Agostino came on in relief and did not give up a hit while striking out two.
Hughes collected three hits to lead the Futures at the plate. D’Agostino, Cole, and Colucci had two hits apiece.
Sunday in the championship game the Futures bested Greece Gladiators – Bates 10-0.
Cole started and gave up one hit while striking out five in two innings of work. Colucci pitched the next two innings and did not allow any hits. Sanna finished the job on the mound also not giving up a hit.
The team was lead at the plate by Sanna and Colucci with two hits apiece. Sherman, Hughes, Conte, Anthony Abbatiello, Smith, and Aiden McDaniels had one hit each.
