Frost advisory in effect tonight for Orleans, WNY

A frosty advisory is in effect tonight from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. Thursday. The National Weather Service in Buffalo said temperatures will in the lower to mid 30s and will result in frost formation.

The advisory includes Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Wayne, northern Cayuga, Oswego, Erie, Genesee, Wyoming, Livingston, Ontario and Chautauqua counties.

The frost could damage or kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered. The Weather Service encourages people to take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
