Front running Roy-Hart downed visiting Barker 10-2 this afternoon to improve to 8-1 in Niagara-Orleans League baseball action.

Winning pitcher Ryan Mettler and Thomas Russo both had 3 hits and Jay Heideman 2 to lead Roy-Hart’s 13 hit attack.

On the mound, Mettler scattered 6 hits and struck out 11.

Aidan Voss had a double and triple and Noah Sandolfini a pair of singles for Barker which slips to 2-7.

Roy-Hart grabbed a quick 1-0 lead in the first inning as Mettler tripled and came home on a sacrifice fly by Brayden Hy.

Barker did not the score with an unearned run in the second inning but Roy-Hart answered with two tallies in the third on a double steal and an error to regain the lead for good at 3-1. A double by John Conley set up that opportunity.

The Rams opened up a little breathing room at 6-1 by scoring three times in the fifth frame on an error, a sacrifice fly by Hy and an RBI single by Russo. A leadoff double by Heideman ignited that uprising.

Roy-Hart capped off the win by scoring four times in the sixth on a two-run single by Heideman and RBI singles by Russo and Remington Albee. Mettler and Jake Gould also both had singles in the inning.
