Freeze watch in effect late Monday night, early Tuesday morning

The weather will take a dramatic turn from the 70 degrees and bright sunshine today. The National Weather Service has issued a freeze watch Monday night to early Tuesday morning.

Sub-freezing temperatures in the upper 20s to lower 30s are possible from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m., the National Weather Service in Buffalo said. The frost and freeze conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.

The freeze watch includes Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Wayne, northern Cayuga, Oswego, Erie, Genesee, Wyoming, Livingston, Ontario, and Chautauqua counties.

The high temperatures for the next several days include 50 on Monday, 49 on Tuesday, 53 on Wednesday and 54 on Thursday.
