Four Medina teams set to compete in WNY Summer Lacrosse League

Doubling the level of participation from last year, Medina will have four teams competing in the Western New York Summer Lacrosse League which begins play next week.

Medina will have teams in the U10, U12, U14 and U16 age group divisions involving a total of some 80 players.

“We’re definitely headed in the right direction,” said Medina High varsity lacrosse Coach Gordy Luthart who is organizing the local summer program.

The Medina U10 team will host North Tonawanda at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday June 24 in the opener and then visit Wilson on Thursday June 26.

The U12 squad will open the season at Niagara-Wheatfield on June 24 and then host Lockport at 7:30 p.m. June 26.

The Medina U14 team will open the season June 24 at Sweet Home and then host Niagara-Wheatfield at 7:30 p.m. June 26.

The U16 squad will host East Aurora at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday June 25 in the season opener. The team’s next game will be at home on July 2 against Sweet Home.
