Football Weekend: Medina and Holley are at home; Albion and RBL go on the road
Facing a third straight division foe, Medina will host Cleveland Hill in a C North contest at 7 p.m. Friday at Vets Park.
Defending champion Medina brings a 2-0 record into the game while Cleve Hill is 0-2. The Mustangs have opened the season with wins over Newfane (21-7) and Roy-Hart/Barker/Lyndonville (48-6) while the Eagles have lost 28-8 to Maryvale and 34-8 to Salamanca.
Mustangs quarterback Aiden Pitts threw four touchdown passes in last week’s win over RBL including two to Kaedon Cleveland and one each to Noah Skinner and Cayden Lilleby. Skinner also had his second straight 100 yard plus rushing game with 133 yards and a TD.
Holley will also be at home this weekend as the Hawks host Bolivar-Richburg at 1 p.m. Saturday in a key early season matchup of 2-0 teams in the 8 Man Division.
Holley has opened the season with road wins over Wellsville (30-14) and Mynderse (36-26) while Bolivar-Richburg has defeated Red Jacket 42-26 and Wellsville 42-24.
Albion will take to the road for the first time on the young season as the Purple Eagles visit Olean at 7 p.m. Friday for a B2 Division contest.
The Purple Eagles are looking to snap a season opening two game losing streak while the Huskies are 2-0. Albion has lost to Falconer (30-16) and Maryvale (22-18) while Olean has downed East Aurora 35-14 and Dunkirk 12-7.
Roy-Hart/Barker/Lyndonville will visit Lackawanna at 1 p.m. Saturday for an interdivisional game.
The Silverbacks are 1-1 and the Steelers 2-0. RBL has defeated Alden 22-20 and lost to Medina 48-6 while Lackawanna has downed Alden 36-6 and Lew-Port 34-17.
