FMC employees donate 750 pounds of food to Middleport pantry
Press Release, FMC
MIDDLEPORT – Employees at FMC in Middleport recently collected and donated nearly 750 pounds of food to the Middleport Area Food Pantry to help community residents coping with the health and economic effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Participating in the effort were FMC employees, including those represented by Local 1180 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, and FMC plant management.
The food pantry re-opened May 4 at its new location in St. Stephen’s rectory garage at 21 S. Vernon St. FMC employees are planning a second food collection drive and delivery to the pantry for later this month.
“It is extremely important that we all work together during this difficult time to ensure those in our community who are in need have access to food,” said Dr. Roberta Kloda, FMC Middleport plant manager. “Our entire FMC Middleport team was very generous in collecting and contributing this large volume of food for distribution by the Middleport Area Food Pantry.”
