Flyers post win over Purple Eagles
A fourth quarter comeback bid fell just short as Albion dropped a narrow 22-18 decision to visiting Maryvale in a B2 Division game this evening.
Trailing 22-12 Albion sliced the deficit to just four in the final quarter on a 1 yard touchdown run by quarterback Amari Jones.
The Purple Eagles got the ball back again late in the quarter and drove into Maryvale territory when a turnover dashed the comeback bid.
Amari Jones also accounted for Albion’s other two touchdowns, both in the first quarter, on a 71 yard kickoff return and a 17 yard pass to Dallas Ecker.
However, the Purple Eagles failure to make the extra points after each of the touchdowns proved costly.
Maryvale is now 2-0 and Albion 0-2.
