A lightning quick two touchdown scoring burst in the first three minutes sparked Maryvale to a 36-0 victory over host Albion this evening in a B3 Division game.

Maryvale took the lead for good at 8-0 just 2:29 into the game as Brayden Tryon scored on a 58 yard touchdown run and quarterback Jaxsyn Moritz added the two-point conversion pass to Noah Irby.

The Flyers quickly upped the advantage to 15-0 just 19 seconds later as Yianni Moore recovered an Albion fumble at the Purple Eagles 14 yard line and ran into the endzone for the touchdown as Jayden Cookfair added the extra point kick.

The Maryvale lead jumped to 22-0 early in the second quarter on an 11 yard touchdown run by Tryon and an extra point kick by Cookfair. A blocked Albion punt set up that scoring opportunity which started at the Purple Eagles 18 yard line.

Albion’s best scoring opportunity of the evening came later in the second quarter as the Purple Eagles drove to the Flyers 1 yard line only to be stopped on downs. A 35 yard run by Cencere Lowe started that Albion drive.

Maryvale tacked on two more touchdowns in the third quarter on 20 yard pass from Moritz to Irby and a 1 yard run by Tryon as Cookfair added both extra point kicks.

Maryvale improved to 2-0 in the division and 2-1 overall while Albion slips to 0-3 in the division and overall.
