Flyers down Mustangs in non league opener
Pulling away in the third quarter, Maryvale went on to down visiting Medina 71-58 this evening in the Mustangs non league season opener.
Leading by a narrow 32-29 margin at the half, the Flyers outscored the Mustangs 22-13 in the third period to open up a 54-42 advantage.
Jerrell Nealy and Preston Woodworth each scored 21 points to lead Medina. Briley Allen and Jimmy Dieter both added 6 and Gordon Young 4. Nealy also grabbed off 8 rebounds and Cole Callard 7.
Medina next visits Dunkirk on Friday for another non league contest. The Mustangs home opener will be next Monday against Lancaster.
