The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a flood watch for Orleans County and much of Western New York from 1 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Between a half inch and an inch of rain is expected Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday night. This combined with warm weather will result in snow melt. This will result in rises on larger creeks and rivers, and potentially will cause flooding at some flood prone areas, the Weather Service said.

Today is forecast to reach about 50 degrees with Tuesday’s high near 56. Wednesday there is a chance for snow showers and a high near 37 and overnight low of 16.

After that the highs are forecast for 22 on Thursday, 25 on Friday and 24 on Saturday.
