Flood watch issued for Orleans, other WNY counties
A flood watch is in effect for Orleans and other Western New York counties from 1 p.m. on Monday to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Buffalo.
The warming temperatures, snowmelt and rainfall will enhance the risk for ice jam flooding, The Weather Service said. Rainfall during the watch period will average between a quarter and a half inch.
The counties in the flood watch Allegany, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Niagara, Ontario, Orleans, Wayne and Wyoming.
