A Flood Watch is in effect today for Orleans County and several other counties in Western New York and the Finger Lakes region from 2 p.m. until midnight.

The National Weather Service said showers and thunderstorms will produce about an inch of rainfall today, with some places getting up to 2 inches.

“This combined with existing wet conditions may result in flooding,” according to the National Weather Service in Buffalo. “With water levels already high, it will not take much rainfall to cause flooding in some area creeks and streams.”
