LYNDONVILLE – Two fishermen try to catch salmon this afternoon in Johnson Creek by the Lyndonville Dam.

There are many anglers in the area for the annual trout and salmon run up local tributaries.

The spot the dam has drawn crowds in October, but there weren’t too many fishing there this afternoon.

The weekly Orleans County Fishing Report by Ron Bierstine says salmon and trout are on the move. Bierstine writes in the report on Tuesday that the supplemental water from the Erie Canal has kept a steady flow in many of the tributaries.

He said this year’s brown trout are on pace to pass last year’s. Anglers also are catching Atlantics, steelhead and cohos, Bierstine said.
