First responders take part in safety day at FMC in Middleport

MIDDLEPORT – FMC Corporation’s Agricultural Sciences Plant in Middleport recently hosted its annual Safety Day for plant employees with area first responders and featuring presentations and demonstrations focused on community, home and work safety.
Safety Day event participants included the Middleport Fire Department, Middleport Police Department, Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, WellNow Occupational Health Clinic and the Alzheimer’s Association Western New York Chapter.
Key elements of the day were fire extinguisher and impairment trainings for plant employees.
“Safety Day is a great opportunity for plant employees and first responders to interact in a cooperative effort to keep our employees safe at home, on the job and to benefit the local community,” said Katie Russell, FMC Middleport plant manager. “It is all part of FMC’s ongoing commitment to safety as our core value and empowering employees to always put safety first.”
