First full week of high school spring sports season upcoming

Jacob Hoffee and his Lyndonville teammates are set to begin their Genesee Region League division title defense this week.

Weather and field conditions permitting the Genesee Region League is scheduled to begin competition this week in baseball, softball, tennis and track as is the Niagara-Orlrans League in baseball and softball.

The defending G-R Division II champion Lyndonville baseball squad is scheduled to host Kendall in the league opener on Tuesday while in G-R softball action Holley is slated to host rival Kendall on Wednesday.

The Lyndonville softball squad also has home games slated for Monday and Tuesday against Newfane and Medina in a non league contests.

The defending N-O champion Albion baseball team is slated to open at Wilson on Friday while Medina will open at Newfane on Thursday. Albion and Medina also have non league home games slated for Monday against North Tonawanda and Batavia respectively.

The Albion softball squad will open the league season at home on Thursday against Wilson as will Medina against Newfane.

Roy-Hart, which shared the N-O softball title with Akron last spring, will host Barker on Thursday.
