Investigators unable to determine cause of fire Saturday in Albion

ALBION – Fire investigators are unable to determine the cause of a fire on Saturday morning that badly damaged an Albion home at 19 West Academy St.

The fire likely started in the cupola of the house, but the fire destroyed the cupola, leaving only two posts. The floor and steps leading to the cupola also are gone because the fire.

“It is undetermined because there was so much damage,” said Fire Investigator Justin Niederhofer.

The fire also resulted in extensive smoke and water damage to the house, owned by Angelo and Ondrea Pate.
