Fast start sparks Raiders past Tigers

Jumping out to a 14-0 lead at the outset, Barker went on to defeat visiting Lyndonville 72-42 this evening in a non league basketball game.

Aidan Mescall hit two threes and a jumper and Aidan Voss a pair of threes to spark Barker out to the 14-0 lead which the Raiders never relinquished.

Voss hit two more threes and a layup late in the period to up the Raiders lead to 15, 26-11, at the end of the stanza.

Barker held a 19 point, 42-23, advantage at the half as Mescall, Luis Allee-Castro and Steven Class each had a pair of baskets in the second period.

The Raiders maintained a 19 point, 58-39, lead at the three-quarter mark.

Mescall finished with 16, Voss 14, Brad Cantrell 11 and Allee-Castro 9 to lead the Barker attack.

Noah Poler tallied 16, Trenton Muck 11 and Mason Nicholson 9 to lead Lyndonville.

Now at 1-1, Barker next hosts Notre Dame on Wednesday in another non league contest.

Lyndonville, which is now 1-2, hosts Rochester Charter Academy in a non league game on Thursday.
