Fast start sparks Purple Eagles past Rams

Scoring four quick runs in the first inning, Albion went on to defeat Roy-Hart 7-4 in a Niagara-Orleans League baseball game this evening under the lights at Gasport.

Two errors and an RBI single by Elliott Trapiss gave Albion the quick lead.

The Purple Eagles later added two big runs in the third on a pair of errors and one in the sixth on an RBI single by Gavin Boyce which followed a double by winning pitcher Nate Gibson.

Gibson had a total of 3 hits including a pair of doubles. On the mound he allowed 4 hits and struck out 14.

Roy-Hart scored twice in the fourth on a pair of errors and twice in the sixth as Will Bundrock and Lincoln Murray had hits.

Albion improves to 6-2 in N-O action while Roy-Hart slips to 4-5.

The Purple Eagles will next host the Rams at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Akron 20, Newfane 4
Akron exploded for 8 runs in both the second and fourth innings to key a 20-4 N-O win over Newfane.

Triples by Collin Miller and Conlan Luck along with doubles by Gavin Miller and Anthony Consiglio highlighted the Akron attack. Luck and Ryan Owen both finished with 3 hits and Gavin Miller 2.
