Jumping out to a quick 4-0 lead at the outset, Newfane went on to down Medina 10-6 in a Niagara-Orleans League game at Vets Park this afternoon.

An RBI single by Brayden Seitz, a bases loaded walk, a fielders choice play and a wild pitch plated the four runs in the top of the first putting Newfane on top to stay.

Medina answered with a pair of runs in the home half of the first on a two-run single by Richard Keppler but the Mustangs would get no closer.

Newfane upped the lead to 6-2 on a two-run double by winning pitcher Aiden Perry in the top of the third.

The Mustangs again answered in the home half of the frame on a two-run homer by Aidan Paul to pull to within 6-4.

However, the Panthers added solo runs in both the fourth and fifth frames on a sacrifice fly and and RBI single by CJ Nagle and two more in the sixth on an RBI single by Seitz and an error to maintain a 10-6 advantage.

The Mustangs only scoring over the final four frames came on an RBI single by Keppler in the fifth and a fielders choice play in the sixth.

Seitz and Perry both had 2 hits for Newfane while Paul had 3 and Keppler 2 for Medina.

Newfane is now 4-7 and Medina 7-4 in N-O action.

The Panthers will next host the Mustangs at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday in the N-O season finale.
