Fast start sparks Medina stickmen to win

Roaring out to a 6-0 first quarter lead, Medina went on to defeat Tonawanda 16-2 in a Class D Division lacrosse game at Vets Park this afternoon.

Cayden Lilleby scored three goals and Sam Kingsbury, Dylan Lonnen and Zaric Boyce each chipped in with one in the decisive opening period and the Mustangs were off an running.

Medina held a 9-1 lead at the after after second period goals by Aiden Burczyk, Kingsbury and Chris Leavitt.

The Mustangs maintained a commanding 15-2 lead at the three quarter mark. Lilleby and Josh Wilson both scored a pair of goals in the third period as Burczyk and Boyce each netted one.

Lilleby’s sixth goal of the afternoon accounted for the Mustangs lone fourth period tally.

The Mustangs are now 1-2 in the division and 2-3 overall.
