Fast start powers OAE gridders past Holley

Oakfield-Alabama/Elba erupted for four quick touchdowns in just five minutes late in the opening quarter to key a 64-6 romp over host Holley this afternoon in an 8 man football game.

Trailing 6-0, OAE in rapid succession got touchdowns on a 9 yard run by Gage Dieterie, an 80 yard punt return by Ty Mott, a fumble recovery in the Holley end zone and an 18 yard run by Dillon Colton between the 6:27 and 1:55 marks to take charge by a 28-6 margin.

The OAE advantage jumped to 42-6 at the half on second quarter touchdown runs of 84 yards by Colton and 38 yards by Mott.

The lead ballooned to 56-6 at the three-quarter mark afer TD runs of 30 yards by Dieterie and 16 yards by Mott.

Holley did grab a 6-0 lead at the outset on a 45 yard touchdown run on fourth down by Jacob Affronti. He also had runs of 10 and 11 yards to help key the drive.

OAE stays unbeaten at 3-0 while Holley slips to 1-2.
